A woman was asked by a co-worker,
"What is it like to be a Christian?"
The co-worker replied,
"It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."
We thought it would be fun to do a little lesson with Ashton tonight and carve some pumpkins. So, we headed to WalMart and picked out a pumpkin for each of the kids. Aaron told Ashton this story while we were carving. Even Jayce got into the fun a little bit. It was great fun! href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_SZUl-TTcemw/StKxqyDOeDI/AAAAAAAAAf0/ayI0JMj8GKk/s1600-h/DSC01426.JPG"
Getting Started...

Here is Jayce...Just observing.
Getting all of the yucky stuff out. We tried to get Ashton to dig it out with his hands but he's not one to get his hands dirty. He touched it once and went immediately into the bathroom to wash his hands.

Daddy drew the faces on...

The finished product...

Happy Fall!
